Horizontal Lifeline Systems

Horizontal Lifelines are designed to enable safe access to any potential fall hazards. The systems are designed to enable users to safely work at height without restrictions to their movement. There are generally two types of horizontal lifelines: Fall Restraint Systems and Fall Arrest Systems.

PRODUCTS

Soter II Horizontal Lifeline System.

FALL RESTRAINT SYSTEMS

Wherever possible systems will be designed as fall restraint systems – these systems when used with the correct PPE (generally a full body harness, standard length lanyard and compatible travelling device) will prevent the user from reaching any fall hazard whilst enabling access to a specific area.

FALL ARREST SYSTEMS

These systems should only be installed if it is not possible to install a fall restraint system and allow the user to fall before arresting the fall. There are applications where these provide the optimum solution for fall protection but a number of additional safety factors need to be taken into account including safe fall distances and rescue plans.

THE SOTER II HORIZONTAL LIFELINE SYSTEM

The Soter System uses innovative shock-absorbing technology to spread and dissipate the shock load of a multi- or single-user fall, protecting both users and the roof structure.

Soter II Features.

  • Independently certified: Tested and certified by SATRA to fully comply with all current European Standards: EN795:2012 class A&C; CEN/TS 16415:2013 UNI11578
  • Fully-Traversable continuous fall protection system: The CE marked Slyder travelling device enables the user to remain attached to the system at all times and passes freely over all brackets and corners.
  • Multi-Purpose, Multi-User: The system is designed to protect upto 4 users and can be used for fall arrest, fall restraint and work positioning – it can also be used as a single point anchor.
  • Versatile Applications: Modular post and universal base plate – covers virtually all standard applications. Tested in conjunction with major roofing manufacturers of trapezoidal, composite, standing-seam and bituminous & single ply roof systems.
  • Post Yield Force 4kN: Force required to release energy-absorbing element, resists accidental deployment.

Soter II Benefits.

  • Unique Patented Energy Absorber: In the extreme event of a fall, the high load post will deploy a uniquely patented energy-absorbing coil that limits the forces developed during free-fall. With peak load back to the roof system at below 6kN, even the thinnest of roofs are protected from the shock of a fall.
  • Fully high grade austenitic stainless-steel components ensure longevity and protection from corrosion: All seals are EPDM or NBR ensuring chemical and corrosion resistance, and lifetime waterproofing.
  • Extended warranty to provide total peace of mind to specifiers, installers and users: Warranty terms may be 1+24years or even longer subject to conditions and project specifications.

We have many years of combined experience in the fall prevention industry sector, what this means is our customers are provided with an unequalled level of care – providing the highest quality for cost-effective prices, whilst never compromising on safety.
